Lovely people!
Yesterday was my birthday. Yes, I was born on the 23rd of November 2006.
Honestly I don't even feel that old, but I feel ready. Ready for what's to come. Meanwhile Germany:

German Politics

Germany is in a pretty interesting state. Our government consisted of 3 parties: SPD (red)
FDP (yellow)
Bündnis 90/the Greens (I think you can guess their color)
the traffic light coalition - as we call it - consists of 3 parties whose votes add up to a little above 50% and therefore could form a coalition to win the election back in 2021.

What happened?

Our chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) wanted Germany to take on more debt to fund multiple projects. The (now former) minister of finance minister Christian Lindner (FDP) was against it and denied the request. Scholz then ranted to the public and decided to dismiss him.

What will happen?

Now that the German government has less than 50% of the votes, it'll be much harder for them to make laws. As a result of this, the chancellor is going to order a vote on "the question of trust". This will happen on the 11th December.

This will result in a voting in the Bundestag whether they still trust the chancellor. (16th December)

If the majority vote is yes, (which won't be the case) the government will stay in place.

If the majority vote is no, the Bundestag and Bundesregierung will be dissolved, which means that there will be new elections in Germany on the 23rd of February.

Who is going to win the elections in Germany?

This is the result of multiple surveys put together. The left graph shows the average survey results. Parties above 5% of election votes will be in the Bundestag.

Depending on how many votes a party receives, it will receive a certain percentage of the 630 seats available in the Bundestag as can be seen on the right graph.

This of course is only a survey. It doesn't have to and won't turn out exactly as expected. We cannot predict the future.

Here's a small update on my life:

Investing

Now that I'm 18, I can finally open up an investment account. My focus here is to at first use it more as a savings account. I'd only put money in the market if I'm ready to lose it.
My overall goal is long-term growth and dividend stocks are also something I want to look into for passive income in the future.

Funny thing, I created my account at 12:05am. Trading 212 (the broker I chose) verified my documents and blocked my account as I was still underage in the UK (time difference). Thus I had to make another account to get verified again.

Drivers License

Recently I started attending driving courses to finally get my license for both cars and motorcycles. Sadly, I will probably have to wait a few months until I can take the test since theory-classes need enough attendees, especially for motorcycles. I'll probably get my car license after Christmas and the motorcycle license in spring.
If you're wondering what kind of motorcycle I own, it's basically an old
(nearly 30 years old) Suzuki GSF 400 Bandit.

Anyways, this is probably all I have to talk about at the moment!

I wish you an amazing next week!
I love you,
Raphael
